Our Nature Photography Workshops are held throughout the year. Photographers of all levels can benefit from our experiential photo workshops. The flexible schedules are designed around the best natural lighting of the day for the field sessions, with time to experiment with photographing different subjects at various locations.

We offer a wide variety of photo workshops - including our very popular Comprehensive One Day 'Perfect Pictures Every Time' Photography Workshops. Our Digital Weekend Workshops include both nature photography instruction and Photoshop sessions. Working with both skills in a weekend helps people to better understand the workflkow and integrate their digital photography with Photoshop to help maximize their photographic potential.

Each workshop will include comprehensive instruction in addition to time for Q & A., handouts - plus photo shoots at selected locations learning and practicing photo techniques and composition. While we manage to cover a lot of information, our main goal for the workshops is keeping the photography experience FUN and exciting!

Subjects covered in our photography workshops can include camera basics and advanced camera principles, digital camera features, settings, and menus, HDR, depth of field, digital workflow, and wide angle, macro, telephoto and panoramic photo composition, and creative techniques. We can also discuss digital darkroom work, printing, or 4 color printing and publishing. Some of the workshops will also feature a critique session.

Carl brings almost 40 years of photo experience and enthusiasm for many different aspects of photography to each workshop and tour. He has been working digitally with Photoshop since 1997 and with a digital SLR since early 2007 - and thoroughly enjoys the additional freedom afforded by digital photography. He has led photo workshops since the early 1990's and has been presenting photography workshops since 1997 through Wild Visions, Inc. He has also done workshops for the The Wild Center, the Adirondack Photography Institute, NANPA, the Adirondack Folk School, Adirondack Mountain Club, Adirondack Life, the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts, the Lake George Association, the Lower Adirondack Region Arts Council, Beaver Lake Nature Center, and View in Old Forge. His photo techiques book, Contemporary Landscape Photography is published by Amphoto, and The Landscape Photography Field Guide by Focal Press. His coffee table books on the Adirondacks, Lake George, New York State, and Maine have been published by Rizzoli, Voyageur Press, and North Country Books. His photography has been used by publications and businesses around the world. His AV programs have aired on regional PBS stations, and he was interviewed for the May 2008 national PBS special, 'The Adirondacks'.

One day workshops and weekend workshops run through Wild Visions, are limited to 6 particpants for greater individual attention.
