Lake George Area Landscapes and Waterways
One Day Fall Nature Photography Tour $185.
Rated Easy / Moderate
May - (12:30 - 8:30 PM) / Oct. - (10:30 AM - 6:30 PM)
From the Lake George Wild Forest to village parks and shoreline vistas, the photo ops around Lake George are spectactular. In each of these one day nature photography tours we will travel to several destinations that are within a reasonable distance of each other. The photography locations through the day will include cascades, waterfalls, and scenic locations around the lake.
Since Lake George area has one of the lowest base elevations in the Adirondack Park, it is one of the last locations for the leaves to turn from summer greens to fall colors. Spring ops include waterfalls and wild flowers. There may be a variety of photo situations, so all types of lens equipment might be used - from macro / extension tubes to wide angle and telephoto. Please bring an umbrella and wet weather protection for potential showers.
This nature photography tour is designed for those who are already comfortable with camera basics such as the relationship between aperture, shutter, and ISO settings. During this 8 hour day we will start out with a very brief introduction / discussion and then will have most all day to play with photo techniques in the field at nearby photo locations. If it looks like good sunset conditions we'll plan to find a nice location to do sunset / twilight photos as well. Sunset is about 8 PM (May) / 6:20 PM (October). The best sunset conditions may be 20 minutes or more after actual sunset so we could wrap up later than the suggested time.

Photographing the Adirondacks (2013 Countryman Press), is a regional guidebook to more than 200 photo locations throughout the Adirondack Park.
This nature photography tour is rated EASY / Moderate - most of the photography will be reasonably close to the road, but we might do some hikes up to about a half mile one way with some elevation gain.
A maximum of 6 participants, allows plenty of opportunities for individual interaction throughout the day on the different photo shoots.
The workshop fee includes all instruction and any handouts - but does not include lodging or additional meals. Please bring along whatever you would like for food and drink through the day. We can carpool as needed to photo locations.
We look forward to photographing with you and working with you on this nature photography tour.
